Mahindra XUV 500 Sportz Edition price, specifications, images, full details

Say hello to the 2017 Mahindra XUV 500 Sportz edition, a special edition model of the popular urban SUV. Mahindra has given a few new exterior decals and inserts on the XUV Sportz edition, while the feature list and powertrain remains identical. It must be noted that this isn’t the first time that Mahindra has launched a Sportz edition of the XUV in India. The automaker had introduced a similar edition on the pre-facelift XUV in 2015.

However, since the XUV 500 got a cosmetic refresh in 2016, Mahindra decided to re-launch the Sportz edition models with the new facelifted XUV as well.

  • Hood body decals
  • Graphics on ORVMs and doors
  • Red embellishments on the fog lamp housings
  • Red brake callipers
  • Grey alloy wheels
  • Red roof rails
  • Sports Edition badge on the tailgate, C-pillar, dashboard and key fob

Mahindra XUV 500 Sportz edition – variants

The Sportz edition will be available only in the top-end W10 variants, with both Manual and Automatic gearboxes. However, it won’t be offered with the AWD setup.

Mahindra XUV 500 Sportz edition – specifications

Mahindra hasn’t changed anything in the powering department of the Sportz edition XUV. However, it must be noted that the said special-edition model is available only with the 2.2-litre models. This means that Delhi customers won’t be able to buy the XUV Sportz, since they ar offered only the 1.99-litre diesel engine.

Launch of the XUV 500 Sportz edition can also be seen as Mahindra’s attempt to freshen up the XUV’s character in order to face competition with the recently launched Tata Hexa.
