2017 Maruti Dzire VXi Ownership Review & User Experience

A big shout out to Kiran Ravindra Hangal for sharing this detailed ownership review of his 2017 Maruti Dzire with us. You too can share your user review, travelogue etc. on CarsIndia by submitting it on this link.

I bought the 2017 Maruti Suzuki Dzire on June 8th 2017. My car is in the VXi variant, which is the mid-level trim with a petrol engine. I have driven the car for around 400 km. While it is too early for a detailed ownership review, here’s my short user review of the new Dzire after a month of ownership.

Things I Love

• Large boot space & legroom with rear AC vent. Big improvement from previous-gen model

• Steering mounted audio & bluetooth controls look and feel nice to operate

• Height adjustable driver’s seat & comfortable rear seats

• Sound quality & infotainment system

• New design of the steering wheel. Gives a fresh air to the cabin

• Standard safety features like ABS with EBD & airbags on all variants

Things I Don’t Like

• No rear defogger

• No cup holder near front left AC vent. The previous-gen model had one which could be used to keep a can of cold drink cool

• Manual AC (on the VXi variant). The knobs and buttons lack in quality as well as fit and finish

Ownership Mileage

• City: 14 to 16 km/l

• Highways: 16 to 18 km/l

The Dzire petrol gets a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder VVT petrol engine. This is essentially the same engine that was found on the previous-gen model. However, with the third-generation Maruti Dzire 2017, the company has managed to reduce the weight of the car. This has helped in improving the car’s performance as well as fuel economy. As a result, the 2017 Dzire petrol has an official fuel economy figure of 22 km/l (ARAI approved). However, practical world mileage ranges from 14 to 16 km/h in the city and 16 to 18 km/l on the highways.
