A facelifted version of the Apache 160 is just around the corner and will be launched in India ahead of the festive season this year. The 2017 TVS Apache RTR 160 has recently been spotted testing in the country on video, revealing that the bike is in the final stages of development. Various TVS dealers have also confirmed that the 2017 Apache 160 will be reaching showrooms in the month of October, with the launch being scheduled for the same month.
The Apache RTR 160 2017 will share its design with its elder sibling – the Apache RTR 200 4V. As a result, the 2017 model will come with sharper fuel tank, new headlamp with AHO feature, a digital instrument cluster similar to the one seen on the 200 cc model, and LED taillights. The only visual difference between the 2017 Apache RTR 160 is thinner front suspension forks, a single seat setup, a brushed silver side panel, a missing rear disc brake, and a smaller engine block.

TVS hasn’t revealed an 0fficial launch date of the 2017 Apache RTR 160 yet. However, a couple of TVS dealers that we have contacted over the past two days reveal that the new model of Apache 160 will be launched in India in the month of October this year.
2017 TVS Apache RTR 160 facelift expected price in India
TVS is expected to price the new Apache RTR 160 2017 model in the range of Rs. 78,000 to Rs. 80,000. This price bracket will be ideal for the bike to compete against its immediate rivals, while offering a value for money proposition.

Powering the 2017 Apache 160 facelift will be a 159.7 cc, single-cylinder, which is the same unit that delivers 15 BHP and 13 Nm of torque in the current model. However, TVS will likely tweak the engine and enhance output figures to make the bike more agile and responsible. Transmission duties will continue to be handled by a 5-speed gearbox.
