New Tata Tiago 2019 Facelift Spyshot Image, Full Details About Changes

Tata Motors has started working on a mid-life facelift of the Tiago hatchback. Though the manufacturer is yet to make an official announcement about the same, a test mule of the facelifted Tiago has recently been photographed during one of its test runs.

The model seen here is camouflaged to hide the visual changes made, and is also seen with dummy headlights and front grille. It is thus difficult to visually comprehend what all has Tata changes through these Tiago facelift spy shots. However, we expect the front and rear bumpers to be slightly tweaked and headlight and taillights assemblies to be revamped. The alloy wheel design might also see an update. All these changes will help Tata Motors to keep the Tiago updated, especially at a time when the hatchback is having to deal with its toughest competition yet – the Hyundai Santro and the new-gen Maruti WagonR.

Mechanically, the Tata Tiago 2019 facelift will continue to be powered by the same set of engines that are found in the outgoing model. These include a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol and a 1.05-litre, three-cylinder turbo diesel. Both these power plants will come with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and an AMT automatic as an option on select variants.

Tata motors had launched the Tiago hatchback in 2016. It became the first ever Tata car to be based on the company’s latest IMPACT design philosophy. The Tiago managed to be a successful offering from the carmaker, thus helping it to climb the sales charts. Owing to its popularity, Tata decided to leverage the Tiago brand name by launching a hot hatch version, called the Tiago JTP, in 2018. It is worth noting that the changes on the Tiago will also be transmitted to the its compact sedan sibling – the Tata Tigor, pretty soon.
