All-new Hyundai Creta garners 20,000 bookings

Looks like the COVID-19 lockdown isn’t downing the customer interest in the all-new 2020 Hyundai Creta. The carmaker launched the second-gen Creta in India in March, just before the country went into a lockdown to tackle the Coronavirus outbreak. Now, over a month post its official launch, the new Hyundai Creta has managed to accumulate over 20,000 bookings in the country.

It is worth noting that around 14,000 of these total bookings were received even before the car was launched. This talks about the customer confidence that the Creta moniker enjoys in the Indian mid-size SUV market. Additionally, Hyundai has revealed that it had accumulated a total of 18,000 bookings before the lockdown got implemented. Nonetheless, having 2,000 bookings at a time like this is worth acknowledging.

What is interesting about the Hyundai Creta bookings is the fact that out of all bookings received by Hyundai India for its entire portfolio of cars, 75% are for the new Creta. Sadly, Hyundai hasn’t managed to deliver any of the Creta bookings yet. The company is expecting to commence deliveries post the lockdown is lifted.

The 2020 Hyundai Creta is available with three engine options – a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.4-litre turbo petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel. The turbo petrol is available with a sole DCT automatic gearbox, while the other two engines get both manual and automatic transmission options.
