The Bajaj Chetak electric scooter was unveiled last month. After the unveil, the company flagged off a group of riders that traveled from Delhi to Pune on the Chetak Electric, covering a distance of close to 3,000 km. Called the Chetak Electric Yatra, this trip has now been concluded with all riders reaching Pune safely. On this occasion, a few more details about the warranty, service interval and bookings open date of the Chetak electric scooter have been revealed.
We have summarised all information that was revealed recently below:
Bajaj Chetak Electric price announcement
It is important to note that Bajaj Auto has not yet revealed prices of the Chetak electric. At the time of unveiling last month, it was mentioned that the scooter will be officially launched in early 2020. However, now the two-wheeler manufacturer has revealed that it will launch the Chetak electric in India in the month of January 2020. As a result, we will know the final price of the most-awaited upcoming electric scooter in India in a couple of months.
It is worth noting that Rajiv Bajaj, MD of Bajaj Auto, has indicated that the Chetak Electric will be priced aggressively. We expect it to be launched in a price range of Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 1.3 lakh (ex-showroom).
Bajaj Chetak Electric Bookings Start Date
We do know now that the Bajaj Chetak’s India launch will take place in January 2020. The company has also announced that it will start accepting bookings for the electric scooter immediately after the launch.
Sadly, there has been no announcement as to when the deliveries of the Chetak Electric in India will start.
Bajaj Chetak Electric Service Interval
Bajaj Auto has also revealed details around the maintenance and service interval of Chetak electric scooters. The company is recommending a service interval of 15,000 km. This is significantly longer than that of conventional petrol-powered scooters. For example, the Honda Activa has an oil change recommendation period of 3,000 km. The longer service interval is due to the lower number of moving parts in an electric powertrain.
