Bajaj V12 disc brake variant launched, price - Rs. 60,000

Bajaj Auto has launched a disc brake variant of the V12 commuter motorcycle. This new variant comes with a 240 mm disc brake at the front, which is the only change made. The rear wheel continues to be equipped with a drum brake.

The Bajaj V12 was launched in India in November last year. Initially, it was offered only with a drum brake setup at the front as well as rear wheel. However, various customers had complained regarding lack of brake bite from the V12. Moreover, the fact that the V15. on which the V12 is based, comes with a front disc as standard made it obvious that Bajaj could have offered the V12 with an optional disc brake at the front. As a result, Bajaj has now fulfilled these customer wishes and added the 240 mm disc from the V15 on to the V12 as well.

Bajaj V12 specifications

Powering the Bajaj V12 is a 125 cc, single-cylinder engine that churns out 10.8 hp and 10.8 Nm of peak torque, while being mated to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. This engine isn’t the sprightliest of the competition, but it surely gets the regular commuting jobs done. Moreover, owing to its smaller size, it is extremely easy to find the right power band on different gears, thus making the bike easy to ride in the city.

Bajaj V12

The Bajaj V12 is based on the V15. It borrows its design cues and platform from its elder sibling. However, the engine is a smaller 125 cc which is a bit lethargic, especially if you take it on the highways. It also must be noted that the V12 is a bare bones bike and doesn’t even get a disc brake as standard, though it has now been added as an option.
