BMW G 310 GS launched in India, priced at Rs. 3.49 lakh

BMW Motorrad has launched its most affordable adventure touring motorcycle in India. The BMW G 310 GS has been introduced at a price of Rs. 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom), making it exactly Rs. 50,000 costlier than its naked sibling – the G 310 R. The two motorcycles also have various chassis components in common, including the platform and braking setup.

The G 310 GS is built on a steel frame and has a kerb weight of 169.5 kg. The bike is 2,075 mm long, 880 mm wide, and 1,230 mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 1,420 mm and a seat height of 835 mm. The fuel tank capacity of this affordable BMW adventure tourer is 11 litres.

In terms of looks and appearance, BMW designers have tried their best to make sure that the G 310 GS looks like a true blooded adventure tourer. It gets the same headlamp assembly as the G 310 R, but features a longer beak – a design element that is synonymous with adventure tourers. The rear end of the bike looks sleek and proportionate, thus giving it a balanced road presence.

Suspension duties are handled by 41mm upside down forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear that provides 180 mm of travel. Additionally, the bike gets a tyre offset as well, with the front getting 19-inch alloys and the rear shod with 17-inchers. This helps in improving the bike’s stability while handling major road/surface undulations. Braking setup includes a 300 mm disc at the front and a 240 mm disc at the rear. Anti-lock braking system (ABS) is offered as standard.

Powering the BMW G 310 GS is a 313 cc, single-cylinder, water-cooled engine that churns out 34 PS and 28 Nm of peak torque. It comes with a 6-speed gearbox.
