Hero Xtreme 200S Priced at Rs. 98.500

Hero MotoCorp has launched a new motorcycle in its popular Xtreme range. Called the Xtreme 200S, this new motorcycle has been introduced at a price of Rs. 98,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is essentially a fully-faired version of the Xtreme 200R, which is priced at Rs. 90,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Though the Xtreme 200S looks quite sporty, Hero claims that it has been developed for customers who are looking for some ‘character and comfort’ during their daily city commute, rather than long distance sporty rides. However, the faired structure will indeed help in providing better wind protection and aerodynamics. The motorcycle is available in three colour options – Sports Red and Mapple Brown and Panther Black.

It is worth noting that the Xtreme 200S borrows the chassis, geometry, and all mechanical components from its naked sibling. As a result, it draws power from a 199.6 cc, single-cylinder engine that churns out 18.4 hp and 17.1 Nm of torque, while being mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Do note that the said engine is a carburetted, air-cooled, twin-valve unit. As a result, the power output aren’t in the league of other 200 cc motorcycles, most of which come with fuel injection.

Hero has loaded the Xtreme 200S with ample features, though none of these are segment-first offerings. The bike comes with LED headlamps, LED taillights, a fully-digital instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and service reminder.

Braking system on the Hero Xtreme 200S includes a 276 mm, disc brake at the front and a 220 mm disc at the rear. Single channel ABS (anti-lock braking system) is offered as standard. Suspension duties are handled by 37 mm telescopic forks at the front and a 7-step adjustable monoshock at the rear.
