Honda 2 Wheelers has launched a new gearless scooter in its portfolio. Named the Honda Cliq, this new scooter is priced at Rs. 42,999 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Honda Cliq is aimed at riders that want the convenience of a gearless scooter, but with a funky design. As a result, the Cliq gets an unconventional design, something that might divide opinions and thus limit its potential customer base.
Honda has been ruling the gearless two-wheeler market, thanks to the highly popular and in-demand offering – the Honda Activa. However, off late, there has been a feeling of saturation in Honda’s growth curve in this market. This was majorly led by too many Activas on the road, which resulted in new customers being bored of seeing the same vehicle over and over again. As a result, Honda decided to bring more diversity
As a result, Honda decided to bring more diversity in its portfolio. The company had introduced the Honda Navi last year, which started the monkey bike segment in India. And now, with the Cliq, Honda is offering the reliability of the Activa, wrapped under new skin. As a result, with the new Honda Cliq 2017, customers get the option to have a combination of the Activa’s power and reliability, with some modern and more contemporary looks.
With the new Honda Cliq, the company is targeting semi-urban and rural markets. As a result, the manufacturer claims to have designed the Cliq in order to satisfy major needs of utilitarian customers. For example, the Cliq scooter in India comes with block pattern tyres from CEAT, which are a first in the industry. These tyres have specially been designed to provide maximum grip on patchy road surfaces.
Additionally, the Honda Cliq scooter comes with a tougher suspension setup that helps in increasing the scooter’s load capacity. Moreover, the floorboard has been designed with a larger area to accommodate some stuff in the front of the rider as well. All this helps the Cliq to tick all the right boxes for a semi-urban or rural customer’s needs.
Honda Cliq price in India
The Honda Cliq has been priced in India at Rs. 42,999 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This makes it around Rs. 2,000 cheaper than the Honda Navi, and over Rs. 8,000 less expensive than the Activa 4g. As a result, in terms of value for money, the Cliq surely offers one of the best value for your money, especially in Honda’s product line-up.
