Upcoming Maruti cars in 2018 full list with launch date & expected price

Maruti Suzuki has been India’s largest car maker ever since its introduction in the country. The company’s portfolio spans over a diverse range of segments, including entry-level hatchbacks and executive sedans. The fact that it has remained on top of every other automaker in an extremely competitive market like ours speaks volumes about how the company has been changing its philosophy to suit the dynamic customer perceptions in the market.

For instance, the company has been introducing a handful of new products every year. Despite the fact that these new launches often cannibalise sales of its existing models, Maruti has been brave enough to introduce multiple different cars in the same price range. This has helped the carmaker to offer several options to a customer who is looking for a car below Rs. 10 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki currently enjoys a market share of over 50% in India. This means that every second car sold in the country is a Maruti Suzuki. However, the company clearly is in no mood to be satisfied with this huge share. As a result, it is constantly working on new models that will be introduced into the Indian market to enhance its presence and dominance. The upcoming Maruti cars in 2018 include all-new models, new-generations of the current car, and even minor cosmetic facelifts. Maruti clearly appears to be doing whatever it takes to not only hold on to its customers but also bring new individuals into its family.

And since Maruti Suzuki is the most popular carmaker in the country, it is obvious that people are always interested in upcoming Maruti cars in India, whether they are being launched this year or the year after.

Hence, we have compiled a list of all upcoming Maruti Suzuki cars in 2018. Click on the car’s names to know all details about the forthcoming Maruti vehicles.

1. Maruti Vitara Brezza Petrol

The Vitara Brezza can easily be termed as the biggest success for Maruti in recent times. Though the compact SUV doesn’t clock the highest monthly sales, it has given Maruti a breakthrough in the UV segment. The compact SUV market in India has grown rapidly in the last 3 years. Maruti was late to join the party but once in, it has managed to place the Vitara Brezza as the best seller in the segment. In fact, Maruti is currently selling more UVs in India that Mahindra, which was once referred to as the king of India’s UV market. All this is thanks to the Vitara Brezza.

However, there is a major loophole in the Vitara Brezza range – a missing petrol engine option. The Maruti compact SUV is currently available only with a 1.3-litre Diesel engine. With the Indian customers shifting focus to petrol powered cars, Maruti has decided to introduce a petrol Vitara Brezza in India.

The said model will come with a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo petrol engine that will be the same engine that powers the Maruti Baleno RS. Maruti hasn’t yet officially announced a launch date for the upcoming Maruti Vitara Brezza petrol, though it is expected to be launched by mid 2018.

Expected Launch in India By mid 2018
Expected Price Rs 7 lakh – Rs
2. Maruti Ciaz facelift

The Ciaz has managed to finally provide Maruti Suzuki a successful entry to more premium segment of the Indian passenger car market. Hence, the Ciaz did something that the Suzuki Kizashi failed to achieve – attract buyers to buy a 10 lakh rupee Maruti car. The Maruti Ciaz not only competed with well-established rivals like the Honda City and Hyundai Verna, but even managed to surpass the sales of both these competitors on multiple occasions.

However, the Honda City has been given a significant facelift to enhance its value for money image. Similarly, Hyundai too has launched a new-gen Verna that is so brilliantly packaged that it won the 2017 Indian Car of the Year award. So what should be Maruti’s ideal step forward?

Yep, through a facelift! Hence, the 2018 Maruti Ciaz facelift is expected to be showcased at the Auto Expo in February and will be launched soon after. This will get a few cosmetic tweaks, some major feature additions and might even get a new powertrain, though the last point is highly unlikely as of now.

Expected Launch in India Mid 2018
Expected Price Rs 8 lakh – Rs 11 Lakh
Engine Specifications 1.4L petrol, 1.3L diesel
3. Maruti Swift Sport

The highly anticipated Swift Sport name will finally make its Indian debut sometime in 2018. Essentially a high-performance version of the regular model, the Swift Sport will be competing in the gradually growing segment of hot hatchbacks and will go head-on against the likes of the VW Polo GT, Abarth Punto, Ford Figo Sports and its own sibling – the Baleno RS.

The Swift Sport is expected to come with a 1.4-litre BoosterJet petrol engine that churns out 138 bhp and 230 Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be handled by a 6-speed manual gearbox. IT will also come equipped with more mature chassis components like an upgraded suspension setup and larger brakes.

Expected Launch in India By the end of 2018
Expected Price Around Rs 10 Lakh
Engine Specifications 1.4L turbo petrol
4. New-gen Maruti Ertiga

The Maruti Ertiga was first launched in India in 2012. Though it has received a minor facelift a couple of years back, the MPV has now started to feel old and outdated. Moreover, the MPV market itself is gradually depleting, thanks to the increased customer and manufacturer interest in compact crossovers. As a result, Maruti has decided to revamp the Ertiga MPV by launching a new-gen model, thus attracting more customers to its dealerships. Not much is known about the new-gen Ertiga at the moment, but it is expected to get 7-seats and major design changes.

Moreover, the new Ertiga will likely come with Suzuki’s new set of 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. These powertrains are currently said to be in the final stages of development. Transmission options on offer are expected to include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic.

Expected Launch in India By the end of 2018
Expected Price Rs 8 Lakh to Rs 11 lakh
Engine Specifications 1.5L petrol, Suzuki’s new 1.5L diesel
  • Maruti Vitara Brezza Petrol
  • Maruti Swift

Upcoming Maruti Cars Details

Maruti Vitara Brezza Petrol: The Vitara Brezza offers immense value for money. However, the lack of a petrol option makes it useless for customers who want a high-riding compact SUV but don’t have enough monthly running to justify the extra cost of a diesel. New Maruti Swift 2018: The new Swift 2018 is the most awaited upcoming Maruti car in India. It is expected to blow the sales charts and will likely set new sales records in the country.
