The 2017 Hyundai Xcent facelift has been launched in India. Prices of the petrol range start at Rs. 5.38 lakh, while the diesel models are priced from Rs. 6.28 lakh (all prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi). This mid-life facelifted model of the compact sedan offering gets some cosmetic updates on the outside, a new touchscreen infotainment system and a larger capacity diesel engine.
On the outside, most of the cosmetic changes have been made at the front and rear. As a result, the front fascia now gets a new wider grille that is detailed with an abundance of chrome. The bumper too is a new unit with a slim black insert on the lower part. The fog lamps are much larger than the earlier model’s circular units. Additionally, there is a curved strip of LED DRLs around the fog lamp assemblies.
Meanwhile, the side profile is identical to the current model, except for a new set of 15-inch diamond-cut alloys offered on the top variants. On the other hand, the rear appears to been given some comprehensive updates. The older Xcent’s derriere was never a positive point in the car’s design, owing to its shorter tail lights and higher boot lid that gave it a narrower look. Hyundai seems to have taken customer feedback as the facelifted model gets wider, horizontally placed taillight clusters. This enhances the car’s stance as well as make it look wider than the previous model.
The facelift Xcent also comes with an upgraded 1.2-litre diesel engine, similar to the one that is offered with the Grand i10 facelift. Meanwhile, the 1.2-litre petrol engine will be continued without any fiddling.

Summary
New Hyundai Xcent 2017 facelift gets some major changes at the front, which look a bit overboard to us. The rear is nicely fabricated as wider tail lamps provide the car a squat stance. The interiors are get a new 7.0-inch touchscreen system will also be added. The engine options are 1.2-litre petrol and diesel units, both of which can be described as average, at best.
