Kia Motors India is all set to launch the Sonet in India. The company had unveiled the car a couple of weeks back. Display vehicles have also reached dealerships across the country. Now, the carmaker has revealed that the Kia Sonet will launch in India on September 18, 2020. On this day, the company will announce the prices as well as start customer deliveries of the Sonet in India.
Media drives for the Kia Sonet are currently underway. However, reviews and opinions have been embargoed till 11 Sept, 19:00 hours.
Bookings for the Kia Sonet are already underway. The company is said to have received over 10,000 bookings for the compact SUV. Popular variants of the Sonet are expected to have a waiting period of over 6 weeks now.
The Kia Sonet is based on the same platform that underpins the Hyundai Venue. It will be available with three engine options – a 1.2-litre petrol, a 1.0-litre turbo petrol, and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be available with the Sonet.
The Sonet will be offered with two variant lines – Tech Line and GT Line. It will compete against the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Ford Ecosport, Maruti Vitara Brezza, and Mahindra XUV300.
