Mahindra to showcase 6 electric vehicles at 2018 Auto Expo

Mahindra & Mahindra have announced their plans for the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo. The automaker has revealed that it will be focusing on the future of electric mobility and connected technology in the automotive domain. Hence, Mahindra’s stall at the Auto Expo, which will be located in Hall 11 of the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, will include 6 all-electric vehicles and various other connected mobility products.

Out of these 6 electric Mahindra cars, 2 will be all-new concept models that will be displayed to showcase the company’s continuous efforts in the electric mobility segment. These two concepts are also expected to see the light of day as toned-down production versions by the end of 2020.

Other all-electric cars from Mahindra will likely include the KUV electric, XUV Aero electric and a Tivoli-based compact electric crossover. In addition to electric vehicles, the company will also put on display its latest set of connected mobility solutions, a future electric car architecture, and an electric mobility platform.

It is worth noting that Mahindra is the only manufacturer in the country which has electric cars on sale. Tata Motors too has been serious about its electric car plans and has even developed the Tigor Electric, but it is currently not on sale to the general public and is only being made for the Government of India. In addition to the electric vehicles, Mahindra will also be displaying the new-gen SsangYong Rexton and an adventure pickup concept based on the Scorpio.
