Mahindra and Mahindra has launched the Marazzo MPV in India at prices starting from Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex showroom, pan India). Do note that these prices are introductory in nature and will likely be hiked in a few weeks. The Marazzo is available in 7-seater and 8-seater configurations, with the latter priced at a premium of Rs 5,000 over the 7-seater models.
The Marazzo is surely a nice looking MPV. In a segment that is dominated by plain looking models like the Renault Lodgy, this new Mahindra MPV will surely manage to gather some eyeballs, and hopefully translate them into sales as well. It gets a ‘shark inspired’ front grille with Mahindra’s signature claw-like elements, a well sculted bumper with large fog lamps, and swept back headlamps that get a smoked treatment. Higher variants also come with LED daytime running lights (DRLs), projectors, and 17-inch black alloy wheels. The Mahindra Marazzo available in six dazzling colours–Mariner Maroon, Shimmering Silver, Aqua Marine, Oceanic Black, Iceberg White and Poseidon Purple.
Interiors get a dual tone layout, with pearl white, piano black chrome accents thrown around the cabin for offering added detailing. Higher variants come with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto, rear parking camera, turn-by-turn navigation, automatic climate control, and sunshades for the second row windows.
Safety hasn’t been compromised for the sake of cost cutting on this new MPV. As a result, the Mahindra Marazzo is equipped with standard disc brakes on all wheels, dual front airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), side impact protection and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
Powering the Mahindra Marazzo is a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine. It is capable of pumping out 121 BHP and 300 Nm of peak torque. The engine is able to provide better fuel efficiency as it features an Ecosense mode.
MPV also has a unique emergency feature. Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed manual gearbox. Sadly, there is no automatic transmission option available with the Marazzo as of now.
