Maruti Suzuki Future S Concept unveiled at 2018 Auto Expo, full details

Maruti Suzuki has unveiled the Future S concept on the first day of the ongoing Auto Expo. This new concept showcases the company’s plans to launch a compact SUV by the end of next year, which will be placed under the Vitara Brezza.

Maruti claims that the Concept Future S has completely been designed in-house. The SUV concept gets some instantly noticeable body sculpting around the wheel arches, suicide doors and a massive C-pillar. The front gets an upright stance, slim LED headlamps, a massive front bumper with prominent faux silver skid plates and honeycomb pattern grille.

The side profile is characterised by a set of large alloy wheels, off-road tyres, a contrasting A-pillar, and suicide doors. The shoulder area gets prominent character lines, while the lower panels of the door get a contrasting insert as well.

On the inside, Maruti designers have given the Concept Future S interiors that are ‘bold and exciting’. The car gets a centre-concentrated dashboard layout, a layered wraparound design, and dual-tone white and orange theme. But the most interesting point of the dashboard is the spherical human-machine interface (HMI) that is placed in the centre. The flat-bottom steering wheel too gets the orange treatment and gets an unconventional design.

The Future S concept car doesn’t have any engine on offer. It is thus just a showcase of the direction in which Maruti Suzuki is planning to design its future products. And with the Indian market clearly loving small SUVs, Maruti appears to be inclined towards introducing products on similar lines in the near future.
