The Maruti Suzuki Swift is easily one of the most common cars you can see on Indian roads. This makes it extremely difficult for owners who wish to make their cars stand out from the crowd. However, since the hatchback sells in such huge numbers, various customization and modification options are available for the Swift in India. In fact, the Swift can also be termed as the most mod-friendly hatchback currently on sale in the country. As a result, modifying the Maruti Swift in India is fairly easy for someone who is willing to shell out some bucks. But while modifying a car, it is essential to keep track of what you want from the final outcome, in order to avoid going overboard and spoiling the clean looks of the stock model.

Owned by Steven Raju, this modified Swift is surely the wildest and meanest example currently available in the country. The Punisher resides in Mod’s own country – Kerala (Kochi, to be precise).
Since the list of modifications made on this amazing Swift is long, let’s cover it in a classified manner for better understanding!
Cosmetic updates
The modified Swift in question has been comprehensively updated cosmetically. It gets a custom made front grille with a tooth-like extension on the top-end. The hood is finished in a dual tone shade of grey and black. The sheet metal has also been tweaked as the bonnet gets additional character lines which suit the overall beefier stance of the car, while also notifying the onlookers about the increased power underneath (more on that later). The front bumper is an all-new unit that houses a wide air dam in the middle, a relocated pair of circular fog lamps and a couple of winglets on each end. The headlamps too have been upgraded as the blacked-out assemblies now house a projector setup along with LED DRLs.
On the sides, the car gets beefed up wheel arches, large 17-inch 9J alloy wheels and a wide body kit. It is being claimed to be the only Swift in India to be running on a full-fledged wide body kit. The large alloys are wrapped with 215 section A-Drive tyres from Yokohama while the suspension duties are handled by Bilstein B14 units. The car also comes with a sunroof at the top that brings in a luxurious pinch to its character.
At the rear, the modified Swift Punisher gets a custom bumper with a wide integrated diffuser, twin exhaust pipes, a prominent roof mounted spoiler and blacked out taillights with an LED insert.

Performance modifications
The Punisher isn’t all show no go. The owner has paid some serious thought in updating its powertrain setup to match its aggressive looks. While it retains the 1.3-litre, four-cylinder DDiS diesel engine from the regular model, the power plant has been remapped by Pete’s, which manages a massive reduction in turbo lag, while boosting the power and torque output figures. As a result, this modified Maruti Swift in India is surely a rocket on wheels.
To put specifications into play, this particular Swift develops 115 BHP and 240 Nm of peak torque, while being mated to the same 5-speed manual gearbox that is found on the stock model. This marks an increment of 40 BHP in power and 50 Nm in peak torque, as compared to the regular model.
To further complement this powering setup, the car also comes fitted with a free flow exhaust, front strut braces and a Green Cotton cold air intake. We are pretty sure this setup will be producing some superb music with every dab of the throttle.
