Ford Figo – Up to Rs 1 lakh off

The Figo has bombed in our market. The company is managing to sell just around 500-800 units of the hatchback per month. This is the reason that Ford has introduced varied iterations of the hatch, like the Ford Figo Sport and the Ford Freestyle, in order to leverage the platform as heavily as possible. Moreover, the Figo is due a facelift in the near future. As a result, the company, as well as its dealerships, are currently clearing stocks by offering lucrative discounts of up to Rs 1 lakh on various variants of the Figo hatchback.

Hyundai Grand i10 – Up to Rs 80,000 off

While the Grand i10 does manage respectable monthly sales, it is nowhere close to what it’s direct rival – the Maruti Swift, is managing to achieve. As a result, Hyundai is trying every tactic to attract customers in the segment so as to close the gap between its sales and that of the Swift. One of these tactics is to offer discounts of up to Rs 80,000 on various variants if the Grand i10. It is worth noting that this discount is a short term scheme, and can include free insurance, depending on the dealership.

Maruti Suzuki Ignis – up to Rs 60,000 off

The Ignis hasn’t had the success that various other Maruti Suzuki cars have enjoyed. The car’s quirky styling and its relatively higher price tag have scared away quite a few customers. Maruti is even planning to discontinue the Ignis diesel in the near future, owing to poor demand. As a result of all this, the Maruti Ignis is currently available with discounts of up to Rs 60,000 on both petrol and diesel models. If you are concerned about buying the Ignis diesel due to the discontinuation rumours, there’s no need to worry as such. The Ignis diesel uses the same 1.3-litre engine that powers most of Maruti’s lineup. As a result, post sales experience won’t be an issue.

Honda Jazz Diesel – up to Rs 1 lakh off

The Honda Jazz competes with the likes of the Hyundai Elite i20 and the Maruti Baleno. While the other two are managing to attract average monthly sales of around 15,000 units, the Honda Jazz just manages to sell around 2,000 units. All this is a big downer for Honda Cars India, as the Jazz is a potent product with contemporary styling, good features, and segment leading space. Hence, Honda is trying to enhance the Jazz’s sales by offering discounts to the tune of around Rs 1 lakh on the diesel models. Do note that there are some minor discounts available on the petrol variants as well.

Maruti Wagon R – up to Rs 50,000 off

The Maruti Wagon R has been the company’s cash cow for over a decade. It sells over 15,000 units per month, without any major marketing expense from the company’s side. While these sales are driven by the Wagon R’s practical package offering, it is also down to the continuous discounts at which the Maruti Wagon R is available. For years, Maruti has been offering around Rs 50,000 off on select variants of the Wagon R. July 2018 is no different. It is worth noting that most of these discounts are applicable on the top of the line VXi trim.

Tata Hexa – up to Rs 1 lakh off

The Tata Hexa is the Indian carmaker’s flagship offering. It comes loaded with features and has 2WD as well as AWD drive options. The SUV was launched earlier this year.  Though the response after launch was overwhelming, the Hexa hasn’t managed to sustain its popularity and sales figures. Tata Motors is thus offering discounts of up to Rs 1 lakh, on select variants. A large share of these discounts are applicable on the higher variants, especially the AWD automatic models.

Jeep Compass Petrol – up to Rs 1 lakh off

The Jeep Compass has been off to a solid start in India. It is currently the best selling product of the entrire FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automotive) group in India. However, over 90% sales of the Jeep Compass come from the diesel lineup. The petrol range, which is powered by a 1.4-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged engine, hasn’t managed to appeal to a wide audience. As a result, Jeep India are forced to offer huge discounts on the Compass petrol models in order to avoid inventory build up. Depending on the variants, the Jeep Compass petrol is thus available at discounts of up to Rs. 1 lakh.
