New Honda Amaze 2018 launched, priced from Rs 5.60 lakh

Honda Car India had unveiled the second-gen Amaze compact sedan at the 2018 Auto expo in February this year. Now, the company has officially launched the compact sedan in the Indian market. The new Honda Amaze 2018 has been priced from Rs. 5.60 lakh for the petrol models and Rs. 6.70 lakh for the diesel range.

Bookings for the new 2018 Amaze are already underway at all Honda car dealerships in India. Customers interested in getting their hands on the 2018 Amaze can now book it at any Honda dealership by paying a token amount of Rs. 21,000.

On the outside, the new Honda Amaze comes with completely redesigned front and rear ends. The face gets a vertical nose, new rectangular-shaped headlights, a prominent chrome grille and large fog lamp housings. The side profile reveals extremely proportionate integration of the boot lid and a set of new alloy wheels. The rear-end too is elegantly designed and features large taillights, with reflectors extending onto the boot lid. The number plate housing is located in the centre, while the taillights are joined via a chrome strip. Top-end models of the new Honda Amaze also get rear parking sensors integrated in the bumper and a prominent boot lid-mounted spoiler.

Interestingly, Honda designers haven’t just overhauled the exteriors of the new Amaze. The interiors too have been given an equivalently major update. The dashboard layout is all-new, though it still follows the dual-tone black and beige theme. The 3-spoke steering wheel with a squarish horn-pad screams freshness, while the twin-pod instrument cluster with a small MID in the centre too is a new addition.

The dashboard spreads evenly on both sides of the centre console, which in-turn houses a large touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate controls and centre top-mounted AC vents. Piano black inserts around the centre console and passenger-side area break the monotony of the dashboard and help in livening up the cabin. The India-spec new Honda Amaze 2018 also comes with a much-awaited feature addition – cruise control.

The Amaze compact sedan continues to be offered with two engine options. The 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol churns out 90PS and 110Nm of torque, while the 1.5-litre diesel develops 100PS and 200Nm. Both petrol and diesel engines come with the option of a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. The Amaze is thus the first compact sedan in India to offer the option of a diesel CVT powertrain.

Honda hasn’t skimped on any safety features either. The New Honda Amaze 2018 comes with dual airbags, ABS and EBD as standard on all variants. Other standard equipment on offer include rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounts and power windows.
