Honda Cars India will launch the 2018 Jazz facelift sometime this year. The new model will come with updated styling, a few feature additions, but will remain mechanically unchanged. However, there is also a possibility of Honda coming up with a more powerful version of the Jazz hatchback, as a contender to other hot hatchbacks like the Maruti Baleno RS, Ford Figo Sport and VW Polo GT.
Recent media reports suggest that the 2018 Honda Jazz facelift can launch in India as soon as July 2018. Interestingly, there have been no official confirmation yet from Honda India’s part.
The current-gen Jazz has been present in the Indian market since 2015. However, the premium hatchback hasn’t really managed to strike the right chord with customers. Honda sells around 2,500 units of the Jazz every month, while its immediate competitors like the Maruti Baleno and Hyundai Elite i20 attract much higher sales.

However, Honda India surely wants to ensure that it doesn’t lose any further sales to its immediate rivals. It is thus bringing in a new facelifted version of the Jazz hatchback. Speculations suggest that the new Honda Jazz 2018 will be launched in India in July 2018. However, this launch date hasn’t been confirmed by the automaker as of now.

We expect Honda to price the new Jazz facelift at a marginal premium over the current model. Hence, a price range of Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9 lakh will be ideal for the updated Honda Jazz to offer a value for money package.

Under the hood, the new Jazz facelift is expected to be offered with the same existing set of engines. This includes a 1.2-litre petrol rated at 87 bhp and 110 Nm and a 1.5-litre diesel generating 99 bhp and 200 Nm. The petrol variants can be opted with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT unit, while the diesel models only have the option of a 6-speed manual.

New Honda Jazz 2018 design changes
A majority of the design changes expected with the new facelifted Jazz hatchback are concentrated at the front. It is likely to get a redesigned bumper, new headlight assemblies, and an updated grille that will be in-line with the company’s latest ‘Exciting H design’ language. Honda is also expected to offer LED daytime running lights on the higher variants.
Meanwhile, the side profile won’t get any significant alterations, except a new set of alloy wheels to rejuvenate things a bit. The rear end will feature some minor tweaks to the taillights, a few new chrome elements around the number plate housing and a redesigned bumper.
