Maruti Suzuki has announced that the new-gen Ertiga MPV will be launched in India on November 21, 2018. This will mark the introduction of the second generation of the popular MPV. The updated model was globally unveiled earlier this year and is already on sale in Indonesia.
The new 2018 Maruti Ertiga has grown in size and is now 99 mm longer and 40 mm wider. This increase in dimensions helps in enhancing the MPV’s road presence. The exterior design has been comprehensively revised, with the new Ertiga getting some design cues that make it look like a smaller version of the Toyota Innova Crysta. New Maruti Ertiga design
The new Ertiga features a more contemporary front fascia with a wider grille, large sleeking headlamps with projectors and DRLs, and a chubbier bumper design with c-shaped fins on either side of the air dam. The side profile reveals the increase in length, and also points towards more similarities with the Innova Crysta, including a shoulder line that rises to join the D-pillar. The Indonesia-sped model gets 15-inch alloys, though we believe Maruti Suzuki will offer larger wheels for the new Ertiga in India.
The rear-end is a lot more modern than the relatively boring profile of the first-gen model. It gets a sharp kink just below the window line and a chrome bar above the number plate housing. The large L-shaped taillights appear to be inspired by those of the Volvo V90. Moreover, the bumper has been given some additional designing elements that make the MPV look a bit more aggressive and dynamic.

New Maruti Suzuki Ertiga 2018 specifications
In India, the new Maruti Ertiga will come with Maruti’s latest 1.5-litre petrol engine. This is the same block that recently made its debut under the 2018 Ciaz facelift. This engine develops 104 PS while being mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Diesel variants will continue to be powered by 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine, pumping out 90 PS power with a 5-speed MT. There are also chances of an automatic gearbox option to be offered with the petrol variant.

New Maruti Ertiga 2018 expected price
The current-gen Maruti Ertiga is priced from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8.5 lakh. With the new model, Maruti will be adding more features and a third row of seats to the MPV. These additions are expected to hike the overall prices by around Rs 1.5 lakh. As a result, we expect the new Maruti Ertiga 2018 to be priced in the range of Rs 7.5 lakh to Rs 10.5 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
