The Tata Nexon 2020 facelift was unveiled just last month. During its launch, Tata revealed that the facelift gets a new set of BS6 compliant engine options. However, the detailed spec-sheet wasn’t revealed at that time. Now, we have got our hands on the full specifications of the new Tata Nexon BS6 petrol models and the biggest highlight is the higher power and torque output from the BS6 engine.
The 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine in the new Nexon compact SUV now puts out 118 PS and 170 Nm of peak torque. This is in comparison to the 108 PS of power that was being developed in the earlier BS4 version. It is worth noting that the torque figure has remained unchanged.

In addition to the said petrol engine, the Nexon is also available with a 1.5-litre turbo diesel block pumping out 108 PS and 260 Nm. Both engines are available with 6-speed manual and an AMT automatic gearbox.
With the higher power, the new Tata Nexon facelift is closely matched with the Hyundai Venue petrol, which develops 118 PS and 171 Nm torque with its 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. The Ford EcoSport is still the most powerful petrol compact SUV, with its 1.5-litre engine developing 121 PS and 150 Nm. Meanwhile, other competitors like the XUV300 and the recently updated Vitara Brezza facelift get lower power figures.
