Renault Triber 7-seater MPV's India launch in August 2019

Renault will officially launch the Triber 7-seater MPV in India in the early weeks of August 2019. The manufacturer had recently revealed all details about the Triber MPV. Hence, all that’s remaining to be known is the MPV’s price and variant-wise feature distribution., an India launch is expected to be scheduled sometime in July this year.

The Triber is essentially an MPV version of the Kwid hatchback. It is based on a modified version of Renault’s CMF-A architecture. This is the same platform that underpins the Kwid. It is 3,990 mm long, 1,739 mm wide and 1,643 mm tall, while having a wheelbase of 2,636 mm and a ground clearance of 182 mm. 

The Renault Triber is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 5.5 – 8 lakh (ex-showroom). It will thus be placed a slot higher than the Kwid in Renault’s Indian portfolio. On the outside,the Triber MPV comes with new swept-back headlights, LED daytime running lights and a V-shaped front grille.

In the interiors department, a dual-tone black and beige colour scheme will be on offer. Some parts, like the switches, knobs and steering wheel are expected to be borrowed from the Captur. Features on offer will include a 7.0-inch touchscreen system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Moreover, occupant safety will be taken care of by dual airbags, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat mounts. Reverse parking sensors and a speed warning indicator will be standard. Additionally, a rear parking camera will be on offer on higher variants.

Powering the Renault Triber will be a retuned version of the Kwid’s 1.0-litre, three cylinder petrol engine. This block will develop close to 72 PS of power and a peak torque of 96 Nm. A 5-speed manual gearbox will be offered as standard. Additionally, there’s also the option of a 5-speed AMT in select variants.
