Tata Nexon AMT automatic now available in XMA trim as well

The Tata Nexon automatic was launched in May 2018 in two trim levels – XZA and XZA+. Tata Motors has now launched a new variant in the Nexon AMT lineup, which slots below the preexisting trims. The Tata Nexon XMA is based on the mid-spec XM trim, and is priced at Rs. 7.50 lakh for the petrol model and Rs. 8.53 lakh for the diesel version (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

Thanks to its lower placement in the Nexon lineup, the XMA automatic variant misses out on some features that the higher trims come with. For instance, the Nexon XMA automatic comes with halogen headlamps, while the XZA and XZA+ trims get projectors. Another major existing feature missing on the XMA are the alloy wheels, as this new trim only gets steel rims with full wheel covers.

However, the feature list of the XMA trim isn’t all ripped apart either. The mid-level automatic variant of the Nexon does come with three-tone interiors, a Harman Kardon infotainment system, Bluetooth, 4 speaker music system, steering mounted audio controls, and voice recognition. It is also equipped with safety features like dual front airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system), EBD (electronic brake force distribution), and rear parking sensors.

The Nexon XMA continues to be offered with two engine options – a 1.5-litre turbo diesel and a 1.2-litre turbo petrol. The AMT automatic gearbox is a 6-speed unit. It comes with anti-stall and kick-down features.
