New Volkswagen Passat 2017 priced from Rs. 29.99 lakh

The all-new Volkswagen Passat 2017 has been launched in India. The premium German sedan is available in two variants – Comfortline and Highline, priced at Rs. 29.99 lakh and Rs. 32.99 lakh, respectively (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). The new model marks the launch of the eighth-generation Passat in the country.

This isn’t the first time that the Passat carline is available in India. Volkswagen used to sell the previous-gen model, which was discontinued in 2013 due to poor sales. However, the luxury C2 sedan segment has since seen some increasing interest from customers. As a result, Volkswagen has brought back its Passat nameplate to compete against the likes of the Toyota Camry, Skoda Superb and Honda Accord. It is also priced closely to German rivals like the Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz CLA.

The new VW Passat 2017 is built on the company’s all-new MQB platform. Its design cues are in-line with the latest design philosophy, while there are plenty of features on offer to justify its premium price tag.
