2017 Honda City facelift India price, specifications, colours, features

The new Honda City facelift 2017 has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs. 8,49,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The car comes in 5 trim levels: S, SV, V, VX and the new top-end ZX. Out of these five trims, the S variant is only available with a petrol engine, while all others can be opted with either a petrol or a diesel unit.

The City facelift 2017 comes with some significant updates in terms of its front looks, while the side and rear profiles have been kept more or less similar to the outgoing model. It must be noted that this new City is only a mid-life update, and thus not include any platform or powertrain related changes. This thus marks the second model based on the fourth-gen City to launch in India.

At the launch event, Honda Car India’s President and CEO, Yoichiro Ueno, commented that since its debut in India back in the year 1998, the City sedan has been Honda’s most important car in the country. In just the past 3 years, Honda sold around 2.2 lakh units of the City in India, more than all other Honda cars combined. This is a testament about the following and trust that the City has managed to form for itself in the Indian market.

The 2017 City facelift marks the first launch of 2017 in the C-segment sedan market. This will soon be followed by the introduction of the Maruti Ciaz facelift and the new-gen Hyundai Verna. On the other hand, Volkswagen and Skoda have already updated the Vento and Rapid siblings with new features and design. As a result, the C-segment battle is surely going to be intensified this year, and the one who manages to keep audiences glued will emerge out as the undisputed leaders.
