The Supreme Court of India has banned all non-BS-IV vehicles from sale in India, from the 1st of April, 2017. This has caused a major issue for manufacturers as well as dealers, who are sitting on huge stocks of BS-3 compliant two-wheelers. All unsold BSIII two-wheelers won’t be able to be sold after the aforementioned deadline. As a result, dealers are now offering huge discounts to make sure that they sell all BSIII bikes and scooters, before April 1.
Bajaj Auto is also offering huge discounts across its portfolio. The automaker’s cruiser bike range – the Avenger is currently being offered at a discount of Rs. 10,000 across the country. Both models (150cc and 220cc) of the Avenger are available at mouth-watering discounts after the BSIII ban by Supreme Court.
The Avenger is currently one of Bajaj’s most successful brands. Bikes under the Avenger range cumulatively clock around 20,000 unit sales every month. As a result, Bajaj had paced up production of the Avenger bikes to ensure that the demand is easily met with the supply. This resulted in huge inventory pileup in the bike maker’s supply chain as well as dealerships.

It must be noted that Bajaj has already launched BS-IV variants of the Avenger. In fact, Bajaj was the first automaker to announce that its full portfolio has been converted to BS-IV compliance.
The aforementioned offer of 10,000 rupees discount on the BS3 Avengers is applicable only for today, i.e., 31st March 2017.
