The year end is approaching and with it are coming official discounts and offers on cars in India. Such discounts are primarily structured in order to sell cars that have been manufactured this year, before starting 2021. We have thus accumulated all available discount offers on hatchbacks in India for the month of December 2020. It is worth noting that inventory is limited and is running out rapidly. Hence, if you are interested in any of the below mentioned models, it is time to take your cheque-book and head to your nearest dealership.
Following are the hatchbacks that are having massive discounts in December 2020.
Mahindra KUV100 NXT
Discount – Upto Rs. 62,000
Though Mahindra sells the KUV100 as a micro-SUV, we are more inclined towards putting in the hatchback bracket only. The KUV100 NXT is available with discounts of upto Rs. 62,000. It is available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that is mated to a sole 5-speed manual gearbox. It rivals the likes of the Maruti Ignis and Ford Freestyle
Hyundai Grand i10
Discount – Upto Rs. 60,000
The Grand i10 has been on sale in India for a fairly long time. However, thanks to its appealing design, loaded feature list, and a relatively affordable price tag, demand for the Grand i10 is still quite strong. Hyundai is trying to sweeten the deal even more by offering discounts of upto Rs. 60,000 on select variants of the Grand i10.
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios
Discount – Upto Rs. 60,000
The Grand i10 Nios is essentially a successor of the regular Grand i10, but is sold alongside the regular model. Though the Nios is a potent competitor to the likes of the Tata Tiago and Maruti Swift, its demand isn’t that significant. Hyundai is trying to attract more consumers for the i10 Nios by offering year end discounts of upto Rs. 60,000.
Maruti Celerio
Discount – Upto Rs. 50,000
The Celerio is perfect for those looking for a no-nonsense city hatchback that can offer a fairly good cabin space. It is available with a sole 1.2-litre petrol engine that is offered with a choice of a 5-speed manual or an AMT automatic gearbox. Maruti even has a factory-fitted CNG variant of the Celerio on sale in India.
Maruti S-Presso
Discount – Upto Rs. 50,000
The S-Presso is another car that aims to be an SUV, but is actually an entry-level hatchback. Launched last year, the S-Presso surely was a talking point for quite some time, thanks to its quirky styling. Targetted at people who are in the Alto-like budget but want some more bling, the S-Presso is being offered with discounts of upto Rs. 50,000 in December 2020.
Hyundai Santro
Discount – Upto Rs. 50,000
The Santro name was relaunched in India with significant fan-fare. However, due to a high launch price and stiff competition in its segment, the new Hyundai Santro never managed to reincarnate the success that previous models with the moniker enjoyed. In order to move a few units of the Santro, Hyundai is now offering year-end discounts of upto Rs. 50,000.
Maruti Ignis
Discount – Upto Rs. 45,000
The Ignis was Maruti’s attempt at launching a pseudo-SUV in the dimensions and price of a hatchback. It is sold through the company’s Nexa premium dealership chain and comes with a peppy 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. Due to its rather quirky style and a relatively higher price tag, the Ignis is often not seen on the options list of most hatchback shoppers in India. Maruti is currently offering discounts of upto Rs. 45,000 to attract a few customers to the Ignis bandwagon.
Maruti Swift
Discount – Upto Rs. 45,000
The Swift continues to be amongst the top three best-selling cars in India. However, there are a few units of this popular hatchback that are currently available at dealers across the country. To clear this inventory before the year-end, Maruti is offering the Swift at discounts of upto Rs. 45,000. The Swift is currently available only with a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, mated to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT automatic transmission.
Renault Kwid
Discount – Upto Rs. 45,000
The Kwid continues to offer a very capable option to entry-level hatchback customers who are looking for a more premium experience, as compared to that offered by the Alto. With its trendy style and features, the Kwid is a popular option for new car buyers on a budget in India. Renault has now made the Kwid irresistible by offering discounts of upto Rs. 45,000. At the post-discount price, the Kwid should be your obvious choice for an entry-level hatchback.
We will keep updating this list as and when we hear about more offers on hatchbacks in December 2020.
