The decision to export the Elevate from India to Japan underscores Honda's confidence in delivering high-quality products from its Indian Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), a prominent manufacturer of premium automobiles in India, marked a significant milestone with the launch of its Made-in-India SUV, the Honda Elevate, in the Japanese market under the brand name WR-V.

The Honda Elevate made its global debut in India in September last year, quickly becoming a key player in the market with over 30,000 units sold in the past six months. HCIL has previously exported models from its lineup to various markets, including left-hand drive markets such as Turkey, Mexico, and the Middle East, as well as right-hand drive markets like Nepal, Bhutan, South Africa, and SADC countries.
