Upcoming Tata cars in India in 2020 and 2021 – Complete List!

Tata Motors is currently on a brand transformation spree. The Indian automaker had set a target of becoming the third largest car manufacturer in the country by 2020, which it has already achieved. Financially, Tata Motors is aiming to be a debt-free organization in the next couple of years. In order to do so, the company is constantly launching all-new products in varied segments.

This started with the Tata Tiago in 2016, which managed to bring a significant amount of interest towards the manufacturer. It was then followed by multiple new Tata cars, including the Tigor, Hexa, Nexon and Harrier. All these models have performed pretty well in their respective segments. In fact, the new launches have cumulatively boosted Tata Motors’ monthly sales figures by over 35% in the past one year. The company currently enjoys a 7.60% market share in the Indian passenger car market.

However, Tata Motors is aiming for a much larger market share in the future. As a result, there is a slew of new upcoming Tata cars that will be launched in India in the next couple of years. A majority of these new models will be based on the company’s latest IMPACT 2.0 design philosophy and will thus carry on the smart and trendy looks that are seen on the latest Tata products.

Tata cars always garner huge interest from Indian customers. And with products like the Tiago, Tigor, Hexa and Nexon, this customer interest has touched new heights. Hence, every new car buyer wants to know the list of upcoming cars from Tata Motors in the country, before making a final purchase decision.

We have thus compiled a comprehensive list of all new upcoming Tata cars that will be launched in 2020 and 2021.

1. Tata HBX

Tata Motors showcased a micro-SUV concept, the HBX, at this year’s Auto Expo. With the growing demand for SUVs in India over a large price range, Tata is trying to offer an SUV at every price point. The HBX concept thus preview’s the company’s entry-level SUV in India. During the concept unveil, the company officials have claimed that the HBX-based production model will be launched in India by the end of this year.

Interestingly, Tata Motors’ officials have also revealed that the HBX is 95-97% production-ready. So the end product will be a lot similar to what has been showcased. This will make the HBX one of the most visually appealing cars on sale at this price point. Based on the Altroz’s platform, the HBX is also expected to share its drivetrain with the premium hatchback. We also expect Tata to offer an all-electric version of the HBX in India.

We have also seen the Gravitas in its production-ready form at the 2020 Auto Expo. As a result, its launch is just around the corner.

Powering the Tata Gravitas premium SUV will likely be a Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel engine. This is the same powerhouse that does duty under the hood of the Jeep Compass. Tata is also expected to offer Land Rover’s multi-terrain modes with the Q502, thus adding a competitive edge over its rivals.
