Mahindra Marazzo price, variants, specs & features, colours

The Mahindra Marazzo MPV has finally been launched in India. This launch comes after months of speculations and spy shots of the upcoming model filling the Internet. The Marazzo has been priced in the range of Rs. 9.99 lakh – Rs. 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom). As a result, the MPV will be competing against the likes of the Maruti Ertiga and Renault Lodgy.

The Marazzo is available in 4 trim levels – M2, M4, M6 and M8. All these variants come with a single powertrain setup, which includes a diesel engine mated to a manual gearbox. Sadly, there is no automatic transmission or petrol engine on offer in any of the Mahindra Marazzo variants as of now. However, reports suggest that both these options will be added to the lineup in the next few years.

During the MPV’s launch, the manufacturer announced that the Marazzo has been developed under participation from Mahindra engineers and Pininfarina designers. It is worth noting here that Mahindra recently acquired Pininfarina, which is a famous Italian automotive design house. Hence, the Marazzo comes with a design that isn’t seen so often in this segment.

All this clearly sets strong ground for the Mahindra Marazzo to be a high selling product in the market. Hence, we have decided to put all information that a customer would need to know about this new Mahindra MPV before making a purchasing decision.

Mahindra says that the Marazzo’s design language is inspired by the ‘Shark fish’. The front fascia is characterised by a grille that is shaped like a shark’s grin and has Mahindra’s claw-like inserts as well. The swept back headlamps get a smoked treatment and house projectors and LED daytime running lights (DRLs) on higher variants.

The side profile reveals a slightly downward slope of the roofline, while the glass area too keeps on reducing as you move towards the rear. Lower variants come with 16-inch steel rims, while the top end trim gets 17-inch black alloys. There is a large recessed area on the Marazzo’s side, including the doors and rear fender, which helps in reducing the vehicle’s visual bulk.

The rear end is relatively plain look and gets a big bumper area, roof mounted spoiler that houses the high mount stop lamp (HMSL), LED taillights, and a significantly sized chrome bar that runs above the number plate housing.

Summary

The Mahindra Marazzo is certainly a well loaded package for the MPV segment. It gets a tasteful exterior design, is loaded with features, offers a comfortable cabin, and comes with a potent engine option. However, the lack of a petrol engine and automatic transmission do appear to be strange, especially when the market is switching towards both these alternatives. Nonetheless, the Marazzo is definitely a product that will be able to sell in significant number in the coming months.
