Renault Kwid Climber colours, price, differences, images and full details

Renault India has launched a special edition of its entry-level hatchback offering. Called the Renault Kwid Climber, this new model is based on the Climber concept that was showcased at the last year’s Auto Expo in Greater Noida. It gets some cosmetic and feature related update, while remaining mechanically identical.

The Kwid Climber is Renault’s attempt to ensure that the hatchback maintains its freshness. In a market that is receiving new launches every month, it becomes extremely important for car makers to keep updating their offerings, in order to attract customer attention. Since the Kwid is Renault’s bread and butter product in the country, the company doesn’t want its sales to drop down owing to new launches from other carmakers.

The Kwid Climber has thus been introduced as a lively and more beefed up sibling of the regular model. It is based on the Kwid 1.0 manual as well as automatic variant and is available only in the top-end trim.

Renault Kwid Climber price

The Kwid Climber has been priced at Rs. 4.30 lakh for the manual and Rs. 4.60 lakh for the AMT model (ex-showroom, Delhi). This makes it around Rs. 29,000 costlier than the regular Kwid variants.

Renault Kwid Climber edition Specifications

As mentioned earlier, the Kwid Climber is based on the Kwid 1.0L variant, without any mechanical changes. As a result, it is still powered by the same 998 cc, three-cylinder SCe engine that churns out 67 BHP and 91 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT are the transmission options on offer.

Renault Kwid Climber Exteriors

The exteriors of the Kwid Climber get some beefed up design elements that give the special edition model a distinctive look. The front bumper has been revised to house a larger blacked out area around the fog lamps, beefier cladding on the lower parts and a new skid plate with orange inserts in the middle. The ORVMs too are finished in a contrasting shade of orange.

The special edition model further gets new multi-spoke alloy wheels, prominent cladding on the wheel arches and door pads and a new rear bumper as well. A larger roof-mounted spoiler helps in enhancing the car’s dynamic appeal, while the new fatter tyres now look aptly treaded for a car of this size.

Renault Kwid Climber edition Interiors

The interior layout of the Kwid Climber is similar to that of the top-end trim of the regular model. However, Renault designers have added a few contrasting orange bits to liven things up. As a result, there are tastefully laid out orange details around the centre console, door pads, instrument cluster as well as seat upholstery. Additionally, the front seat headrests have been given a Climber badge.
