Renault Triber MPV Unveiled in India, Here's everything about this 7-seater

The Renault Triber MPV has been unveiled in the Indian market. This Kwid-based MPV is a sub 4-metre 7-seater model. It will be launched in the second half of 2019.

The Renault Triber is 3,990 mm long, 1,739 mm wide and 1,643 mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2,636 mm and a ground clearance of 182 mm. Such compact dimensions, especially the sub 4metre length, will help the Triber to take advantage of the lower excise duty that is applicable for small cars in India.

However, the smaller size does have its share of trade-offs. For the Triber, the small size has resulted in a limited cabin space. However, Renault designers have managed to intelligently design the seating layout to optimise the space on offer. For example, when all three rows of seats are in place, the Triber has a limited boot space of just 84 litres. However, owners can either remove the third row of seats completely and even fold the second row of seats down to liberate the boot space as large as 625 litres.

On the outside, the Renault Triber is surely a smart looking vehicle. It gets a 3-slat grille at the front, flanked by wraparound headlamps. There are projector headlamps on offer on the higher variants. Meanwhile, the bumpers get a dual tone finish with a silver faux skid plate. The side profile is characterised by blacked out B and C pillars and prominent roof rails, while the rear gets wraparound taillights and a number plate housing in the middle of the tailgate.

The Renault Triber comes with a dual-tone dashboard. The primary feature on offer is an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The MPV gets a 3-spoke steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster, independent AC vents for the second and third row of seats, and cooled central storage area with cup holders.

Powering the Renault Triber MPV is a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT automatic. This powertrain is capable of developing 72 PS and a peak torque of 96 Nm.
