The new RC 390 gets some major mechanical updates. The biggest of them all is a new side-mounted exhaust unit that replaces the under-belly exhaust of the older model. The new exhaust gets a two-stage canister which reduces emissions and enhances performance. Further, KTM is now offering the RC 390 with ride-by-wire throttle that improves acceleration response. The above two changes have made the new bike BSIV complaint. Other changes on the bigger RC include wider rear view mirrors, adjustable clutch and brake levers, and a larger front disc brake of 320  mm.

Price: Rs 2,25,300 (ex-Delhi)

As a result, the new RC 390 is costlier as compared to the outgoing model by a margin of Rs 12,000. In addition to all the aforementioned mechanical changes, the bike also gets new body graphics and UV protected paint on the trellis frame.

As for the powering setup, the 2017 KTM RC 390 continues to draw power from a 373cc engine that churns out 43 BHP and 36 Nm of torque, 1 more than the outgoing model’s torque output. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

While the elder sibling gets some detailed mechanical updates, the smaller and cheaper twin – the 2017 RC 200 – carries on with the same mechanical setup. It is powered by a 199 cc engine that generates 25 BHP and 19.2 Nm of torque. The only changes made to the bike is a new paint scheme, which adds a lot of white colour to the fuel tank as well as side faring.

Price: Rs 1,71,340 (ex-Delhi)

As a result, the facelifted RC 200 is priced at a premium of Rs. 5,000, as compared to the model it replaces.
