Hyundai Venue India Price, Specifications & Features, Colours, Images

The compact SUV segment in India has been booming for quite some time. However, despite being the second largest manufacturer in the country, Hyundai India has been quite late to the party. But the Korean automaker has finally launched its segment contender, the Hyundai Venue, which is the company’s first-ever compact SUV.

The Hyundai Venue Compact SUV offers a combination of contemporary design, well-loaded feature list, and potent powertrain options. Are all these enough to pose a significant threat to the Maruti Vitara Brezza? Or is the Venue only a true competitor to the Mahindra XUV300?

Here’s everything you need to know about the Hyundai Venue Compact SUV:

Hyundai Venue Price in India

The compact SUV marketplace is already a tightly-woven segment. There are various competitors that offer amazing value at very aggressive prices. Models like the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Ford EcoSport have forced every new entrant to be offered at very competitive prices in order to gain any market share. Additionally, the segment leader – Maruti Vitara Brezza, hugely benefits from the brand image of its parent company.

As a result, Hyundai had to make sure that the Venue is launched at fairly competitive prices. And this is exactly what the manufacturer managed to do. The Hyundai Venue prices in India thus range from Rs. 6.50 lakh to Rs. 10.84 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Hyundai Venue Exteriors

The Venue is a handsome looking vehicle. It is characterised by a wide grille at the front, with the Hyundai logo in the middle. Right next to the grille are two slim housings that have the turn indicators inside them. Meanwhile, the regular headlamps are located on the lower half of the bumper.

The side profile makes the Hyundai Venue look like a mini-Creta. It comes with blacked out A and B pillars, and a wide C pillar, all of which look a lot similar to what we see on the Creta. 16-inch dual tone alloys on higher variants make the Venue look more dynamic.

The rear profile is the most plainly designed angle that the Venue has. The small taillights have LED inserts that look smart. However, the large tailgate area looks a bit bland. Hyundai has tried to add some flamboyance here by giving a large VENUE insignia on the lower half. The rear bumper has a faux silver skid plate. As a result, the Venue does look like a urban crossover that has matured into a road car.

Hyundai Venue Review

The Venue offers immense value-for-money, especially with the 1.2-litre petrol engine variants. However, the compact SUV’s USP lies in the 1.0 turbo petrol engine option. It is currently the only engine in any compact SUV in India to be offered with a DCT automatic gearbox. Moreover, the 1.2-litre petrol is expected to be slightly lethargic for a compact SUV of this size. We thus recommend the Hyundai Venue only in the 1.0 petrol and 1.4 diesel powertrains.
