TVS Zeppelin concept cruiser showcased at 2018 Auto Expo

TVS Motors has showcased a new cruiser concept motorcycle at the 2018 Auto Expo. Called the TVS Zeppelin, this concept is the first ever cruiser segment product to come out from the TVS Motor Company’s brand. However, the Zeppelin is still in its early conceptual stages, and India launch of the production version is still a far sight.

The Zeppelin concept has been given some muscular and raw looks. It has a conventional cruiser stance. As a result, the rider position is quite laid back. The all metal design gets some brushed metal inserts for detailing around the engine area. The large fuel tank is coloured in a Rusty Brown tone, while matte black panels at different parts of the bike provide the required contrast.

The front end gets LED headlamps, exposed inverted suspension forks with gold detailing, and a beefy front tyre. The flat-style handlebar is ideal for a sports cruiser, while the low seat position will be beneficial for riders who have a short height.

In-line with the bike’s overall retro design theme, TVS Motors has equipped the Zeppelin motorcycle concept with lightweight spoke wheels, instead of contemporary alloys. The front gets 41 mm up-side-down (USD) forks, while the rear is suspended over a monoshock. Braking duties are handled by massive disc brakes at the front and rear and a dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system). Interestingly, the TVS Zeppelin concept has a belt drive system, rather than the popular chain drive architecture that is widely seen in bikes of this segment.

Features loaded to the Zeppelin motorcycle concept include digital speedometer, online connectivity, and a bio-electric key. Additionally, the TVS concept bike also comes with an HD action camera that is mounted on the headlamp nacelle, thus giving Go Pro-like shots while riding.

Powering the TVS Zeppelin concept is a 220 cc, single-cylinder engine. Moreover, TVS claims to have added an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) to the powertrain, which provides an augment electric boost while accelerating the bike off the line. Power and torque output figures haven’t been unveiled yet.
