Cars aren’t just a mode of transport. They are a part of our family, a support system, and a piece of joy. As a result, every new car buyer wants their car to look good. Various market surveys suggest that price and looks are the two top-most parameters that customers consider before making a purchase decision. As a result, it is important for prospective buyers to know which are the best looking cars in their budget.
We have thus compiled a list of the best looking cars currently on sale in India, priced under Rs. 20 lakh. Do note that the following list is ordered on their starting price, not based on their looks.
1. Tata Tiago / Tigor
The Tiago and Tigor are based on the company’s new IMPACT design language. Both these models are the best looking options available in their respective price brackets. They are proportional to look at, don’t get any aggressive cuts and creases, and look pleasing to the eye from all angles. Tata has also launched the performance-inclined versions of both these models, called the Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP. These too look the part and surely are capable of turning some heads.
2. Maruti Swift / Dzire
The current-gen Swift and Dzire siblings are undoubtedly the best-looking cars ever launched under these moniker. The first and second-gen models always looked a bit more utalitarian in nature. However, with the third-gen version, Maruti designers have surely hit the nail at the right spot as both, the Swift and the Dzire, look elegant as well as contemporary, especially with the projectors and LED DRLs present on the top-end trim.
3. Hyundai Elite i20
Hyundai has consistently made good looking cars for the Indian market. The Elite i20 has always been a car that appeals to customers for its tasteful styling. And with the mid-life facelift, Hyundai has made the car even more appealing. The minor sculpts on the bumpers, stretched back headlamps with LED inserts, and wraparound tallights; every element on the Elite i20 makes the car one of the most good looking hatchbacks in India.
4. Ford EcoSport
Ford EcoSport is the model that ignited the compact SUV segment in the Indian market. The model currently on sale is a facelifted version that was launched in 2018. It gets a wide grille, larger headlamps and fog lights, and beefier bumpers. Other than these new elements, the overall proportions of the EcoSport have remained unchanged, which is a good thing as the compact SUV manages to look quite butch, despite the under 4 meter length.
5. Hyundai Venue
The Venue is the latest entrant in the compact SUV segment in India. While most Hyundai models in the country feature a more neutral styling, the Venue sure stands out. Thanks to the wide grille at the front, an unconventional headlamp layout, the Creta-like side profile, and a neatly packaged rear-end, the Venue ticks all the right boxes in the design department.
