Maruti Swift Sport 2018 India launch date

Maruti hasn’t made an official announcement about the Swift Sport’s India launch date. However, sources suggest that the hot hatch will be launched a couple of months after the standard model’s introduction. We expect the new-gen Swift to make its Indian debut around April 2018. Hence the Swift Sport will likely be launched sometime around June.

It is worth noting that Maruti Suzuki is highly likely to showcase the entire new-gen Swift range in India during the upcoming Auto Expo.

2018 Maruti Swift Sport price in India (expected)

The Swift Sport won’t just get a more powerful engine as compared to the regular models. It will also come with revised suspension, upgraded braking and added features. All this will surely contribute to a price premium over the standard model.

As a result, we expect the new 2018 Maruti Swift Sport India prices to range between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

New Maruti Swift Sport engine specs

Media reports suggest that the India-spec new Swift Sport will be powered by a 1.4-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged BoosterJet petrol engine. This powerplant is capable of generating 138 bhp and 230 Nm of torque, while being mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. This engine makes it the most-powerful variant under the Swift range to ever be launched.
