Suzuki Motorcycles India has launched a new 125cc scooter to compete in the country’s rapidly growing gearless two wheeler market. The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 comes in as the company’s flagship offering in the country. It is priced at Rs 68,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Instantly after its launch, the Burgman 125 has managed to attract quite a few eyeballs in the market. Potential customers are thus willing to consider the Burgman instead of well established rivals like the Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access, Honda Grazia and Yamaha Fascino.
Want to know more about the Burgman Street 125? Here’s our comprehensive story:
Design & Looks
The Burgman Street 125 gets an unconventional design, especially in the Indian market’s context. It looks like a maxi scooter, which is a concept that is very popular in international markets. The front apron gets a swelled look, with the large headlamp assembly being located in the middle. The handle fairing features an aerodynamic layout with a small windshield like insert located to minimize wind blast. The front wheel fender curves up in a gradual manner to provide a smooth looking front fascia.
The Burgman Street’s side profile reveals the sheer size of this scooter. Unlike most other offerings in the segment & price range, the new Suzuki 125 scooter has been designed to look as bulky as possible. There is a significantly sized leg room for the rider, with the front apron featuring an outward kink in the middle. The side body panels below the seat too follow the bulky appeal and thus get some significant cuts and creases. The seat gets a gradual step in the middle that divides the rider and pillion areas.
Suzuki is offering the Burgman Street 125 with three colour options – Pearl Mirage White, Metallic Matt Fibroin Gray and Glass Sparkle Black.
