Tata Motors to launch Camo and Dark editions of its cars

Tata Motors has filed trademark application with ‘Camo’ and ‘Dark’ suffix for their range of cars. This suggests that the company might be planning to launch special edition models with these names. The company is yet to officially confirm these speculations.

As per some trademark applications leaked on the Internet, Tata Motors is planning to bring the Camo editions for three of its models – Tiago, Tigor, Altroz and the upcoming Tata Gravitas. Meanwhile, the Dark edition has been trademarked for the Tiago, Tigor and Altroz.

Not much is known about these upcoming special edition models of Tata cars in India. However, going by what we have seen with the Harrier Dark, we expect to see complete blacked out variants of the Tiago, Tigor and Altroz. Meanwhile, the Camo name will probably be used for special edition models that will come with a dark green shade to give it a camouflaged look.

We do not expect to see any mechanical changes on the Camo and Dark editions of Tata cars. Interestingly, the Tata Nexon is missing from this list. This might be because the Nexon compact SUV is already selling like hot cakes. Hence, Tata would not like to bring in more variants for the Nexon and unsettle its supply chain.
