TVS Ntorq 125 scooter launched in India, full details inside

TVS Motor Company has launched a new 125 cc scooter in the Indian market. Called the TVS Ntorq 125, this new scooter has been introduced at a price of Rs. 58,750 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is available in a single variant. Thanks to its aggressive pricing, the new TVS Ntorq scooter will compete with the likes of the Honda Grazia, Suzuki Access and the upcoming Aprilia SR 125.

The Ntorq 125 scooter is essentially a production version of the Graphite concept that TVS had showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. It gets an aggressive design, some flamboyant colour options, and a comprehensive feature list. TVS hasn’t really mentioned any specific target audience for the Ntorq scooter, but it is more likely to be focussed towards male riders.

The engine option on offer with the TVS Ntorq is a 124.8 cc, single-cylinder block that develops 9.2 bhp and 10.5 Nm of peak torque, while being mated to a CVT automatic gearbox. Moreover, the new TVS scooter offers features like full-digital instrument cluster, 3 display modes, and smartphone connectivity with bluetooth.

The TVS Ntorq is based on the Graphite concept that was showcased at the previous auto expo in 2016. As a result, it borrows some design elements from the said concept. These include apron-mounted headlamp and turn indicators located around the handlebar cowl. The scooter comes with 12-inch alloy wheels as standard, which are wrapped with 100/80 profile tyres. The single unit seat gets contrasting stitching, while the tail-end is characterised by LED taillights and split grab rails.

But the biggest talking point about the new TVS Ntorq scooter is the first-in-segment SmartXonnect platform. This allows the rider to pair a smartphone with the scooter via bluetooth. The phone can then be used to show the last parking location and various other parameters of the scooter. The Ntorq also comes with a fully digital instrument cluster with navigation, top-speed recorder, lap-timer, service reminder, engine oil temperature and multi-ride statistic modes – Street, Sport and Ride Stats.
