BMW G 310 R launched in India, priced at Rs. 2.99 lakh

The highly awaited BMW G 310 R has finally been launched in India. This marks the launch of the most affordable BMW bike that one can buy. The G 310 R is priced in the country at Rs. 2.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the BMW G 310 R in India are already underway, and deleveries will commence from immediate effect.

The G 310 R is a result of a partnership between BMW Motorrad and TVS Motors. Under this partnership, the two companies have jointly developed a middleweight platform and engine that will be used by both manufacturers in their respective products. BMW has worked on this platform to develop a naked streetfighter called the G 310 R, while TVS has taken the sports bike route with the Apache RR 310

Additionally, the aforementioned partnership also means that the BMW G310R is produced locally in India at the TVS manufacturing factory in Hosur, near Chennai. Local production helps in ensuring that the G 310 R is pegged at a fairly competitive price tag, thus making it the most affordable bike from the German automaker.

The BMW G 310 R is manufactured locally in India. This makes it easier for BMW to price the bike competitively in the Indian market. The motorcycle is thus priced at Rs. 2.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Sadly, there is only a single variant of the model as of now.

The BMW G310R is powered by a 313 cc, single-cylinder engine that is rated at 34 BHP and 28 Nm. Transmission option on offer includes a 6-speed manual gearbox. This is the same egine that powers the TVS Apache RR 310. Anti-lock braking system (ABS) is standard on the G 310 R, while the braking setup includes 300 mm disc with 4-piston caliper at the front and a 240mm disc with single-piston caliper at the rear.
