However, the company has now brought in a more contemporary looking and feature loaded compact SUV in India, called the Mahindra XUV300.
The Mahindra XUV300 is based on the same platform that underpins the SsangYong Tivoli. However, Mahindra engineers have chopped it from the rear to fit the car in the sub 4 metre length category. This helps in attracting a lower excise duty and thus keep the prices aggressive.

Mahindra XUV300 Specifications
Mahindra is offering the XUV300 with two engine options. The diesel models are powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbo diesel that churns out 115 bhp and 300 Nm of peak torque. Meanwhile, the petrol variants get a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder unit putting out 110 bhp and 200 Nm. Both power plants come with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Mahindra has already announced that it will launch an AMT automatic gearbox sometime later this year.
