MG Hector: TeamBHP spyshots show how this SUV will look like

The MG Hector is one of the most awaited SUVs in the Indian market. Despite MG (Morris Garages) being a new name in India, the company has managed to build a hype around it, thanks to creative advertising campaigns. The Hector, being an SUV, has thus found a place in the options list of many prospective customers.

We don’t know much about the MG Hector yet. However, a recent set of spy shots courtesy Teambhp show a couple of uncamouflaged test mules of the Hector, thus revealing all design details of the upcoming SUV. The two models snapped on camera have different wheel designs and exterior details. This suggests that both models are of different trim levels.

One of the test mules gets a Metallic Grey colour tone, with silver inserts around the front grille, front bumper, and headlamps. This model also gets relatively simpler looking alloy wheels. As a result, we expect it to be a lower trim, which will be priced more aggressively.

On the other hand, the second model comes with chrome inserts on the front fascia and dual tone alloy wheels. This particular version is finished in a brown shade. It is worth noting that both trims come with projector headlamps and LED daytime running lights (DRLs). As a result, we might see both these features as standard across the MG Hector lineup.

MG Motors has till now been tight lipped about what will power the Hector SUV in India. However, reports suggest that we might see a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbo petrol engine that puts out 141 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. Meanwhile, the diesel variants are expected top get a Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel unit rated at 171 BHP and 350 Nm of torque. The company might even plonk a petrol hybrid powertrain in the MG Hector, though it would significantly increase the price point at which this SUV is launched.
