Hyundai Motors India has announced that it will launch the new-gen 2020 Creta SUV on March 17, 2020. This announcement comes just a few days after the second-gen model was unveiled during the 2020 Auto Expo. We thus know that the new Creta will come with comprehensive updates on the exteriors as well as interiors, along with a BS6 compliant engine range.
While the outgoing, first-gen model of the Creta has looks that will appeal to all, the new-gen Creta gets a bold design philosophy that is surely expected to polarise opinions. The front end is characterized by a significantly large cascading grille, split LED headlamps, and a silver skid plate. The headlamps get a c-shaped LED daytime running light around the inside edge. On the side, the Creta does have a window line that will remind onlookers of the first-gen model. However, the beefed and squared wheel arches and 17-inch dual tone alloys manage to lend the 2020 Creta a fresh stance. Meanwhile, the rear-end gets a split taillight setup that is similar to the layout of the headlamps, along with a silver skid plate and a lower placed number plate housing.

Hyundai hasn’t yet revealed any details about the SUV’s engine options. However, reports suggest that the new 2020 Creta will borrow the same set of engines that power the Kia Seltos. Hence, we expect to see 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines, both putting out around 115 PS. While the petrol will be offered with a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic, the diesel will get a 6-speed manual and a torque-converter automatic.
The new Hyundai Creta 2020 will likely be priced in the range of Rs. 10 – 16 lakh. With the updated model, Hyundai will try to regain the segment lead, which the automaker has recently lost to its sister sibling – the Kia Seltos.
