The Toyota Glanza has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs. 7.22 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The hatchback is available in two trims (G and V) and comes with three different powertrain options. For those who are confused about what the Glanza is, it is essentially a re-badged version of the Maruti Baleno.

Toyota and Maruti Suzuki have entered a partnership under which the two manufacturers will be sharing various technologies, platforms, as well as existing models. The Glanza is the first product resulting from this partnership. Additionally, the Vitara Brezza, Ciaz and Ertiga too are expected to get their respective Toyota-badged siblings.

Talking about the Glanza, it is available in two trims – G and V, which are based on the Maruti Baleno’s Zeta and Alpha trims. The hatchback shares its design, mechanicals, and interiors with the Baleno. As a result, the only change Toyota has made is the addition of its monikers on the front grille as well as tailgate.

Toyota Glanza Specifications

The Glanza is available with two engine options – a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder K12B that pumps out 83 PS and 113 Nm of torque, and a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, mild-hybrid K12C unit rated at 90 PS and 113 Nm. Both these engines come with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the non-hybrid unit also gets a CVT automatic option.
